Position Overview

Working in partnership with the Manager, the Office Coordinator (OC) will contribute to company efficiencies by analyzing existing office procedures and systems and making recommendations to enhance efficiencies. Once accepted, the OC will implement and maintain the new office processes, systems, tools, and company records. The ongoing role is to provide administrative and operational support, perform general accounting duties, complete payroll, assist with project administration and co-ordination, develop and maintain promotional activities, and professionally communicate and interact with clients, staff, and other external stakeholders. This position is a full-time opportunity but we are willing to consider a one-year contract. Compensation starts at $60,000+ annually but will be dependent upon experience. Benefits to be added within the next 6-12 months. You will work in a safe work location typically on an independent basis. Customers rarely visit the office and employees most often work off-site.

Candidate Description

You are an individual with a desire to participate in enhancing business operations. Your prior experience will provide the basis for examining current office procedures and systems, recommending changes that enhance efficiencies, effectively implementing these changes, and maintaining the revised approach.

Relevant Background

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a coordination, accounting, and/or administration role within a manufacturing company or service provider (Plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.)
• Highly proficient use of standard computerized programs including Word and Excel. Includes database and spreadsheet skills. Working knowledge and efficient use of computerized payroll and accounting systems. I.E. Sage, Quickbooks or equivalent.
• Ability to accurately complete routine accounting duties including all aspects of payroll, accounts receivable/payable. GST/PST, year-end tax preparation.
• Demonstrated business acumen preferably in a small to medium company setting. Previous exposure to identifying, recommending, and successfully implementing continuous improvement initiatives related to office procedures and systems. Ability to maintain accepted recommendations.
• Ability to work independently and successfully complete job responsibilities with minimal direction. Exercises mature judgement and displays a strong work ethic.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, organize, and meet deadlines. Strong attention to details and accuracy a must.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills. Clear application of English language a necessity.
• Solid interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Able to professionally interact with clients, suppliers, and other external stakeholders
