WHAT YOU GET TO DO!                 

• Planning, directing, and coordinating all operational accounting functions
• Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting and reporting of consolidated business results
• Coordinating and preparing internal financial statements and presenting analysis
• Coordinating activities of external auditors
• Providing business unit leaders with accounting information vital to the decision-making process
• Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
• Evaluate accounting and internal control systems and implement improvements where necessary
• Review costing methods for all components of manufacturing and analyze production costs, and recommend changes
• Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
• Provides leadership to an accounting team (AR, AP, Inventory Accounting, Junior Accountant, Intermediate Accountant), mentoring, developing, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff
• Other duties/projects as required.

WHAT YOU BRING TO US!

• A business, finance, or accounting degree
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience in roles such as managerial accounting or other senior finance department positions with a deep understanding of how finance and accounting departments work
• Adept at understanding accounting / financial data and to communicate those implications to stakeholders
• In depth knowledge of regulatory compliance, staying current with regulatory changes
• Experienced in successfully leading a team
• Experience and a deep understanding of the manufacturing sector an asset
• Proficiency in accounting software – ERP / Navision experience an asset
